The Country Market Access Director Italy will play an integral part of the Executive Board of Janssen Italy and will report directly into the Managing Director of Janssen-Cilag.
The position is with critical strategic importance and business impact within the operating company as it is responsible and accountable for delivering and sustaining optimal, timely market access and pricing for Janssen's portfolio of products.
This is a broad scope Market Access role that has critical strategic importance and business impact.
The position encompasses substantial internal (operating company, regional/EMEA, global) and external relationships.
Key Responsibilities Proactively develop and deliver Italy's HEMAR strategic objectives and plans, ensuring adequate resourcing, in alignment with patient needs, business priorities and Janssen's strategy to be a transformational medical innovator.
Plays a strategic role at operating company level setting and providing guidance aligned with EMEA strategy.
Lead regional access team to ensure accelerate access across all regions.
Serves as company representative at national industry trade associations on market access matters.
Overall accountability for price negotiations/discussions with national and regional payers at country/cluster level as well as implementing pricing policies for Janssen's portfolio of products in the country/cluster.
Represent Italy in discussions with PRIT and Global Pricing and Access Committee (GPAC) if required.
Accountability for building industry leading capabilities in the country/cluster that anticipate evolution in the healthcare environment and changes in the company portfolio mix.
Strengthen capabilities in the operating company, supporting the local team to develop professionally through leadership responsibility for the HEMAR academy and by fostering developmental opportunities for key talent.
Focus on building new and strategically important capabilities in key functional areas.
Active and influential member of the operating company Management Board.
Accountability for market access input in business planning processes (e.g.
BP, MTP, etc.).
Regulatory Affairs Responsibilities The position is also responsible for overall management of the Regulatory Affairs Department and all regulatory activities including ensuring compliance to support and grow the business in line with the company goals.
This includes: Management of the RA Team.
Obtain and maintain marketing authorizations.
Ensure fast introduction of new products and line extensions including new indications.
Maintain and support communications with Health Authorities and third parties.
Ensure regulatory compliance.
Streamline regulatory activities with other internal business partners.
Influence regulatory environment through external stakeholders.
Qualifications University degree in Business Administration or related discipline.
Focus on Health Economics or Healthcare Management preferred.
Advanced Degree or MBA preferred.
Experience & Skills 8+ years' of demonstrated experience in healthcare environment, preferably pharmaceutical industry or related consulting services, sufficient to have developed a deep understanding of the local, regional and global payer and market access environment.
5+ years of experience in Health Economics, Market Access and/or Pricing & Reimbursement in Italy.
Proven experience in negotiation with local authorities or HTA payer.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects involving complex processes, significant budget, competing deadlines and rapidly shifting priorities in a compliant manner.
Ability to partner with key members of commercial, medical, regional, global and other relevant teams constructively.
A proven ability to attract and develop talent and build class leading organizational capabilities and support future succession needs.
An 'execution mindset' focused on getting things done quickly and simply.
Skilled in functioning within a matrix organization.
Excellent oral and written in both Italian and English communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills and evidence of teamwork in a matrix environment.
