The ideal candidate will join the dynamic, rapidly growing Operation Center Engineering Team and will be responsible for developing functional concepts for Marine hybrid propulsion projects.
How You'll Make an Impact You will be involved in developing and applying technologies to supervise and control power management and hybrid propulsion systems for inland water ferries and the yachts' market.
Understand the technical requirements of the client and the ranking authorities and produce the technical specifications for the functioning of the systems.
Develop the software for the propulsion and power generation system according to the verification and validation processes to ensure its quality.
Participate in system tests at the factory to validate the produced system before its installation.
Actively participate in the commissioning at the customer's site to validate the system before its delivery to the shipowner.
During the warranty phase, analyze the systems during their operation with the aim of improving their performance and providing the customer with excellent quality systems.
Proactive and critical spirit with the aim of continuously improving processes and quality.
Represent the company expertly and provide outstanding customer service in line with Siemens Energy's vision and values.
Enforce health, safety, and environmental rules and policies at all locations.
What You Bring High school diploma or a degree in engineering automation and control, or equivalent degrees.
Minimum 4 years of relevant work experience in related or similar fields.
Experience in developing software for HMI panels and PLC automation software development using high-level languages (SCL).
Advanced knowledge of Simatic Manager and TIA Portal; CAN Bus, Profinet, Profibus, and MOD-Bus communication protocols.
Knowledge of variable frequency drives, synchronous and asynchronous motors, control systems theory applicable to an inland DC grid, electro technical fundamentals related to low voltage distribution grid, battery systems, and understanding of circuit diagrams.
Proficiency in Italian and English is required.
Ability to work in a multidisciplinary and diverse team, including colleagues from other countries.
Strong multitasking and prioritization abilities; oriented towards analyzing methods and finding ideas for improvements.
Willingness to travel frequently in Italy and abroad.
Valid B driving license.
Nice to have: Knowledge of hybrid propulsion systems used in marine applications, including understanding of the integration of traditional power sources with electric propulsion systems, and familiarity with the control and management of those systems in maritime environments.
Familiarity with CAD/CAE software, such as EPLAN and Autodesk AutoCAD.
