Job Summary Your main role will be to provide effective maintenance and repair of electrical, mechanical, and special systems throughout the Data Center to minimize breakdowns and downtime and maximize operating efficiencies.
Responsibilities Carry out an intensive program of planned preventive/corrective maintenance for the building and utilities.Carry out routine maintenance on all company machinery and equipment to include fault finding, problem solving, and minor repairs to minimize downtime.Full, accurate, and timely completion of all maintenance logs, schedules, etc., to comply with Health and Safety legislation and company, insurance, and ISO requirements.Contact external contractors as required and accompany/assist them while on site.Ensure there are adequate supplies of spares on site for commonly used parts or those with a long lead time.Create & continuously update technical files for plant & equipment from liaison with suppliers, operators, or own knowledge.Carry out daily, weekly, and monthly health and safety checks and inspections and take timely corrective action.Report problems and/or unsafe practices to the relevant Supervisor and Health and Safety, together with any recommendations for improvements.Carry out all minor mechanical, electrical, and special systems repairs in relation to buildings and utilities, planned and executed in such a way as to minimize risk or inconvenience to others.Carry out minor modifications to mechanical, electrical, and special plants as required.Ensure quality procedures relating to maintenance are followed (e.g., calibration of measuring equipment).Troubleshooting & maintenance for office equipment if required.Review processes, procedures, systems, paperwork, etc., in own area and make suggestions for improvement.Communicate process changes to relevant parties in order that relevant follow-up may be carried out, e.g., training.Ensure full and timely reporting of all major breakdowns, significant problems, repair requirements, delays, or machine downtime to relevant personnel.Liaise with suppliers as necessary to clarify technical details and overcome problems.Any other reasonable duties or project work which may be required by management from time to time.Qualifications Good literacy and numeracy skills and relevant mechanical/electrical engineering qualification.Willingness to work shifts reliably under a rotation schedule that includes overnight shifts and bank holidays.Good attendance & timekeeping record.Fluent in Italian & English.Results Driven.Teamwork.Ownership.What We Offer The opportunity to leave your mark in a company that is growing quickly and still manages to keep a pioneer spirit.A competitive salary and a company culture that values commitment, respect, and fun at work.Equinix is committed to ensuring that our employment process is open to all individuals, including those with a disability.
