Purpose of the positionHIAB is looking for a Manufacturing Engineering Manager who will provide leadership for the manufacturing engineering department within a matrix environment and provide professional development for manufacturing engineers.
The purpose of this role is to drive the factory's future vision by leading advanced manufacturing strategies, ensuring efficient plant operations, and supporting product development and engineering improvements.
The position is based in Minerbio, Italy.
Main tasks and responsibilities All risk assessments are carried out and maintained Accountable for all safety incidents within manufacturing engineering, ensuring all are reported and investigated Ensuring quality standards within the manufacturing engineering department Ownership of all material item masters within ERP Promote a culture of RCCA within the company Act as the main interface between the Value streams and R&D functions, facilitating improvements to the assembly process through product / process changes Full ownership and development of the E2E value stream maps Creation and ownership of Std hour for each product, as well as updating of ERP product master data, including the BOM and product routings Management of ECO implementation and tracking Creation and updating of all Standard Operating Procedures Responsible for Cell design and line layout in line with the VSM and VSLs Develop detailed work instructions, create plans and budgets in support of the PSC growth strategy Manage the Manufacturing Engineering team, performance and development, assessing priorities and providing direction to ensure all tasks are completed to the highest of standards (operational excellence) Lead the value stream 6S and KAIZEN programs and deliver productivity improvements in line with PSC KPIs Promote a culture of high accountability, empowerment and high engagement What you'll need to succeed Degree in preferably Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Innovation or Digitalisation Msc or post graduate qualification in manufacturing Lean 6 sigma Black or Green belt 7+ years experience working in a manufacturing engineering role 5+ years experience in a management role Knowledge of techniques and tools for process improvement (six sigma).
In depth knowledge and experience of DFMEA, FMEA, APQP, PPAP and Lean Manufacturing techniques.
Working knowledge of 2D and 3D CAD and ERP systems.
Experience of New Product Introduction, reworking design changes and upgrades through to production Technical knowledge of volume manufacturing engineering practices including Factory 4.0 Proven strong focus on Health & Safety, Q.A.
