What the role is:
You will be part of MPA's Shipping Division that is instrumental in maintaining the Singapore Ship Registry (SRS) as a major and quality flag through working in close partnerships with ship owners and operators, and the wider maritime industry to facilitate the growth of their maritime businesses in Singapore.

Your key duties include:
Registration and Documentation: Process applications for ship registration and maintain accurate records.
Ensure all required documentation is complete and complies with relevant regulations.
Provide timely and professional registry-related services to our clients.
Communication: Engage and liaise closely with ship owners, operators, and other stakeholders, analyse clients' needs, propose practical solutions to address clients' requests / queries.
Respond to inquiries and provide information regarding the registration process.
Data and System Management: Maintain and update the ship registry database.
Ensure data integrity and confidentiality.
Reporting: Prepare reports on the status of ship registrations and compliance issues.
Provide statistical data and analysis to management.
Market Research and Promotion: Develop relationship with clients, industry partners to harness market intelligence and establish new leads / business.
Conduct maritime market research to keep up with current and future development and identify opportunities.
Keep up to date with latest rules and regulations and technical information.
Promote Singapore Registry and closely support industry events / seminars.
What we are looking for:
Prior knowledge and/or experience in maritime and trade law, international shipping regulations and data analytics would be essential for the role.
You should have excellent verbal and written communication skills, possess strong data analytical skills, with demonstrated ability to manage work independently and as part of a team. You should be meticulous to details, able to work well under pressure, while being customer service oriented to manage the various stakeholders.
The role will require you to deal with stakeholders from different countries such as the Republic of Korea, Japan, Italy, etc. Knowledge in Korean / Japanese / Italian and other foreign languages will be essential for the role.
Successfully applicants will be offered a 2-year contract appointment in the first instance.
