We are seeking a Product Quality Manager to be responsible for the development, implementation and upkeep of the Quality Control Systems activities.
Tierra sells hardware (ECU), software embedded systems and telematics solutions worldwide and the main scope of the role is to obtain finished products compliant with Governments, Customers and Company standards, by preventing compliance issues and developing programs compliant with to the Countries sales regulations.
The Product Quality Manager will participate in the review of engineering designs to contribute to quality requirements and considerations.
He/she will assist product support areas in gathering and analyzing data about Hardware and Firmware quality.
The Product Quality Manager will be closely linked and involved with the other functions of the company, both Management and lower-level staff, in relation to the development and execution of the quality systems, coordinating information, education and training of the personnel.
He/she will report to the Operations Director and will work closely with the Embedded Unit (in charge of the hardware and firmware design and development), the Purchase management (in charge of purchasing and suppliers management), the Logistics and Production management (in charge of supplier's production) and the Process Quality management (in charge of the company Quality Integrated Management System, concerning the ISO 9001, ISO 27001, and GDPR standards).
Key areas of responsibility include:
Hardware delivery (Electronic Control Unit)
- He/she is responsible for ensuring the compliance of the finished products with the government, Customers and company standards and satisfying good manufacturing practices regulations.
- He/she completes documentation, prepares and fills the Declarations of Conformity of the company products.
He/she is responsible for tracking national certifications of our products and following the related renewals and new requests.
- He/she establishes and defines the Quality Gates for production, checking the preventive tests, the results of the laboratory and field tests.
He/she is authoritative for the GO to mass production.
- He/she oversees the RMA activities and performs appropriate process reviews if needed, both for the suppliers or the internal tools.
Firmware delivery
- He/she is responsible for ensuring the compliance of the finished products with the Customers standards and satisfying good firmware development practices.
- He/she makes sure that all the requirements are translated into a specification.
- He/she establish and defines the Quality Gates for firmware release.
- He/she supports the communication with customer in case of firmware issues.
Supply Chain management
- He/she is responsible for keeping relations with the suppliers that can influence the conformity of the final product or service.
- He/she requests process audits to the supplier and estimates improvements to the production process of the supplier, if necessary.
- He/she estimates the suppliers annually, based on the number of NC (non-conformities), returned products and production mistakes.
- He/she is integral part of the communication flows between Tierra and the suppliers.
- He/she works closely with the supplier to assure development quality and minimize the risk for the release in production.
- He/she is part of the Team for new potential suppliers' evaluation and qualification.
Quality Standard and systems / processes
- He/she is responsible for keeping relations with the counterpart representing the customers, for the awareness of the customers' requirements within the company, for the definition of the contractual commitments to be undertaken toward the customers.
- He/she writes the documentation related to the NC returned products / 8D and communicates directly with the customer.
- He/she is responsible for referring to the Management about the progress, the efficacy, the compliance and the integration of the regulations defined for the Integrated Management System.
