As an Environmental Health & Safety Manager, you will ensure compliance with safety and environmental legislation and work with management in providing a safe and environmentally protective work environment for all employees in Italy. The Environmental Health & Safety Manager will be located at our Castel San Pietro Terme Bologna location.
Responsibilities:Conduct safety and environmental audits and report findings to the appropriate level of management to create corrective action plans to resolveCreate, verify and maintain Job Safety Assessments (JSA's)Facilitate change to behavior-based safety by working with management, supervisors and line leaders. Use all available means (staff meetings, safety committees) to push safety concerns/issues to resolutionFacilitate the identification of environmental aspects and impacts and the determination of those that are significant in order to minimize the impact on the environmentCoordinate employee safety and environmental based training including orientation, pallet jack, forklift, overhead crane as well as contract with outside services to provide hearing conservation, firefighting and first aid training. Provide line leader training to ensure understanding of safety and environmental aspects of their jobServe as the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System Management Representative, reporting to top management the performance of the System and recommending improvementsEstablish policies, requirements, procedures and promote communication to improve safety and environmental practicesManage ISO 14001 certification (keeping documents updated and following documents, annual required training SPCC, RCRA, Haz-Waste, etc.), participate in weeklong ISO audit, update monthly environmental objectivesQualifications:A Bachelor's Degree in a safety related field or a minimum of five years' experience actively running a safety program in a manufacturing environment, a Masters degree is a plusMinimum of RSPP duty qualifiedPrevious experience with ISO 45001 is a plusAble to train and direct employees in different operationsExperience with Microsoft Office, SAP, Excel, PowerPointAbility to communicate effectively with co-workersAbility to efficiently manage multiple tasks simultaneously to completionStrong verbal presentation and written communication skillsAbility to read, write, and speak in both Italian and English
