POSITION PURPOSE Communication & Media Relations Manager, reporting to the Associate Director Communication, Advocacy & Policy, is responsible for the strategic and operational support of the company's communication activities within the different therapeutic areas to support Lilly strategic positioning in Italy. This role aligns with patient advocacy and policy objectives and involves strong collaboration with Business Units functions (marketing, medical, PRA). MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES Develop and implement communication strategies to enhance Lilly's corporate reputation and support strategic initiatives, product launches and data disclosure, ensuring 100% compliance with Lilly's procedures, corporate communications, and disclosure rules. Manage external communications in Italy related to the different therapeutic areas, establishing strong relationships with external stakeholders (relevant editorial groups, journalists). Collaborate with patient advocacy function to align communication efforts with advocacy objectives. Deliver, from the idea to the execution, innovative Disease Awareness and Patient Activation projects in key therapeutic areas. Coordinate with Business Units (marketing, medical, PRA) to ensure cohesive communication strategies. Monitor media coverage and manage media relations to maintain a positive public image. Prepare and disseminate press releases, media statements, and other communication materials. Organize and manage events, press conferences, and other media-related activities. Provide communication support during crises and manage issues that could impact Lilly's reputation. ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS Mandatory Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field. Proficiency in English languages. Minimum of 7 years of experience in communication and media relations, preferably within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry. Strong understanding of the Italian media landscape and experience in managing media relations. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. Strong organizational and project management skills. Ability to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure. Proactive, creative, and strategic thinker with strong problem-solving skills.
