D-Orbit is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our MAIT engineering team.
As an integral part of the group, you will be involved in the Assembly, Integration and Verification of components, subsystems, and satellites.
You will implement and maintain integration plans and procedures, as well as supervise and support our manufacturing team during the AIT activities.
Additionally, you will play a critical role in improving and maintaining existing MGSE (Mechanical Ground Support Equipment) and designing new ones.
Key Responsibilities: Supporting the mechanical integration of components, subsystems, and satellites under clean room conditions.
Implementation and maintenance of integration procedures and plans.
Design, improve and maintain MGSE (e.g.
equipment handling, transport).
Verification through structural analysis of correct implementation of GSE.
Work closely with the quality team for inspections, investigations, and non-conformance.
Provide technical input to project, product to ensure that new processes and methods are optimized for mechanical activities.
Author technical documents.
This role will involve occasional travel to supplier and test facilities, and as such, you must be able to travel accordingly.
Requirements: 3-5 years of working experience as a mechanical engineer in the aerospace field.
Experience in using CAD systems.
Experience in FEM structural analysis.
Experience in design and implementation of mechanical ground support equipment.
Hands-on experience in assembly and integration.
Ability to write documentation for in-house and external assembly processes.
Quality-driven approach with high attention to detail.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Professional proficiency in English.
University degree preferably in the fields of Aerospace/Space Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with relevant standards (e.g., ECSS).
Experience in PTC Creo.
Experience with Nastran/Patran.
Experience with PLM Teamcenter.
Familiarity with composite materials.
Knowledge of 3D printing process and designing parts for 3D printing.
Fluency in Italian.
