Position Summary The Maintenance and Technical Service Engineer is an essential role primarily supporting the processing of products and services. The Engineer will be mechanically and electrically biased with experience of working within a manufacturing environment. As a multi-skilled Engineer, he will be responsible for:
Reactive maintenance on all processing equipment helping to ensure that all process deadlines are met with the least amount of downtime. Carrying out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM). Continuous Improvements on machinery. Strip down and rebuilds of machines. Duties To plan and execute maintenance and technical activities by coordinating resources. Carry out daily and weekly performance checks. Manage all activities related to the installation of new equipment/systems, from specification requirements preparation to supplier relationship management till the installation itself. Manage external personnel and contractors ensuring they meet law requirements and internal guidelines. Review, trend and present plant failure modes, highlighting required investment areas. Ensure activities aimed at verifying the quality of equipment/sites are carried out in due time in accordance with procedures. Collaborate with Technical and Production departments to introduce and develop solutions aimed at improving productivity. Participate in the development and implementation of new department procedures. Ensure planning & coordination of all planned/unplanned maintenance activities are completed in a timely manner. Ensure Computer Based Maintenance system is kept up to date and that PPM and reactive tickets are closed out with accurate data captured. Duties - cont'd Carry out investigations on equipment to define NCs root cause. Perform routine calibration, operational qualification (OQ) and safety checks of the process equipment. Verify that standardized work is performed based on internal procedures. Join PIT daily meetings giving personal contribution to troubleshooting. Participate and support continuous improvement activities. Make the workplace safe. Fulfill and update regularly risk assessments. Ensure all internal regulations and procedures are implemented and valid. Manage spare parts availability in accordance with the 5S program, ensuring good stock levels at all times. Improve and maintain workshop and plantroom 5S standards, focusing on health and safety enhancements and visual management. Education Degree High School Diploma or GED. Required Experience Experience in the same role – 3 years. Graduated education in a technical field. Deep technical knowledge of the equipment covered by the service. Electric/electronic and mechanical skills. Hydraulics and pneumatics knowledge. Italian and English language (speaking and writing). In-depth technical knowledge of the equipment used in the E-beam production sites. Knowledge of 5S and lean initiatives. Ability to handle data. PC use and MS Office competence. Flexibility, autonomy, accountability. Plus: knowledge of the Siemens PLC software.
