Job Description
General manual work in various construction and maintenance activities. Work is performed under direct supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor.
Position Responsibilities
• Performs the maintenance and repairs of all streets, sidewalks, and curbs.
• Mows and weed whacks ditches and pond areas using small engine equipment and mowers.
• Maintains and repairs stormwater management facilities.
• Operates vehicles and light to medium equipment in performing maintenance activities.
• Performs preventative maintenance on various vehicles and equipment.
• Performs heavy manual labor, such as digging, lifting, placing pipes, cleaning and repairs.
• Performs litter control functions.
• Applies herbicides as required.
• Performs helper and semi-skilled tasks in construction and maintenance using various hand and power tools.
• May be assigned to operate heavier equipment on a temporary, emergency or trainee basis.
• Makes daily written and oral reports.
• Performs basic grounds and building maintenance and custodial duties as needed.
• Maintains clean, neat, and organized work areas, equipment, and tools.

Educational & Technical Requirements
High school graduation or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma.
