The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from statistical analysis of maintenance dataflow to deep train knowledge.

With a presence in 38 countries across three continents and over 13,000 employees, our mission is to contribute to society through the continuous development of superior rail transport solutions.AccountabilitiesAssure the RAM data collection in the service operation of the vehicles, defining the data records structure according to the Contractual requirementsWith support of the System Support Engineering assure a detailed Vehicle Management and control of changes to the vehicle / product configuration, ensuring the correct traceability of the status of each vehicle creating the as Maintained ConfigurationManage infrastructure based systems (MRX, PanMon, Gotcha etc.)
to ensure any notifications or maintenance alerts are received, and develop means of using this data to support condition based maintenance.
Work towards integration with SAP and Virdict systemsProvide performance analysis and recommendations for improvements for both internal and external stakeholders relating to engineering support IT systemsAssure the support to SM Bid Proposal defining the own budget for any new bidding initiativeUpdating of spare par lists issued by the SM Bid Proposal and detailed by the Mobilization Engineering according to the maintenance plan and the RAM analyses and the service operation experienceConducting level of repair analysis (LORA) to define efficient and cost effective corrective maintenance, also providing feedbacks to Rolling Stock Design Engineering and SM Standards Training for standards modificationsSupport to maintenance operation in the troubleshooting and management of maintenance activities, analysing any technical issue and suggesting the necessary corrective action according to the System Support Engineering indicationPrepare the technical specification for any depot tool, interfacing with the suppliers, arranging the design review, coordinating the installation, the test and the commissioning with the support of Operations HSE e OperationsWith the support of SM Standard Training, provided the training to the maintainers in the depotRealize failure analysis for extrawarranty (both vs. customer and supplier)Validate the Maintenance ManualValidate the Telediagnostic messagesResponsible for reporting maintenance and safety defects, operational events and failures.Responsible to present operating data returning from the exercise (RAM data) to the Customer.In charge of ensuring the implementation of maintenance plans at depot level and in the external sites, from the commissioning phaseResponsible for supporting Project Team activities through on-field analyses.
This includes:Supporting SM Standards Training in engineering procedures and practices developmentOptimizing the execution of maintenance regimes and assisting Maintenance Optimization in the development of optimized maintenance practices in support of current and future contractsperforming small modifications on components and hardware, related to materials or processesIn charge of supporting all the SM Operations delivery continuous improvement programs - also through the collection and management of operating data returning from the exercise of vehicles - to ensure contractual requirements are achieved and exceededResponsible for ensuring support to SM Procurement and SM Operations during the assessment and approval of new / second source suppliers, so that engineering and quality needs are adequately identified and addressedResponsible for supporting SM Quality control function in reporting component or train failures, also assessing component reparability and related safety riskRequired Skills/ KnowledgeExperience to perform the aforementioned accountabilities as dictated in section aboveBachelor of Mechanical or Electrical/Electronic Engineer or technical degree required preferably in electrical, mechanical, or systems engineeringMinimum 2 years railway vehicles maintenance engineering application experiencePrevious work in railway maintenance sector, with particular focus on maintenance plan optimization, complex troubleshooting and RAMS analysisWilling to take on big challenges with large-scale Regional projectsAble to perform vehicle system analysisAbility to interpret contract specificationAbility to read, understand and interpret drawing, schematics and cable plansAvailability to short trip, typically lasting some days, for mostly of time (i.e., more than 60%)Desired Skills/ KnowledgePrevious experience in Maintenance Field engineering on railway fleetsBasic working knowledge of Rail Train Subsystem such as Automatic Train Supervision, Vehicle, Telecommunication, STB, Pneumatic brake, traction converter, HVAC, etc.Basic understanding of software configuration managements (CM)Basic understanding of software programming logicBasic working knowledge of statistical analisys programmeOperation and Maintenance ProcessesPrevious experience on ECM projects and Homologation planningRailway Operations and Signaling principlesPlanning and organizationSpare part analysis, definition and forecast setup according to return of experienceDesign to maintain and continuous improvement willingness and attitudeEducation / QualificationsElectrical, Electronic, Mechanical Engineering or System Engineering Qualifications/Associate Degree or equivalent technical background.LanguagesEnglish ProficiencyWe thank all applicants for their interest; however, only those under consideration will be contacted.
