Job Description Position: Logistics Specialist
Location: Thermo Fisher Scientific (Thermo Ramsey) Site in Parma Our factory in Parma is hiring a Logistics Specialist to support our mechanical plant in the food and pharmaceutical packaging sector. The ideal candidate will focus on implementing logistics solutions and performing the following activities:
Responsibilities: Handle all shipping documents (DDT, Packing List, CMR, AWB, Customs Bill) for national, intra-CEE, and extra-CEE shipments, ensuring their correctness, accuracy, and recordkeeping in accordance with company policies. Align with procedures and working instructions issued by Thermo Fisher's Global Trade Compliance, ensuring that import and export activities stay in sync with applicable regulations, company policies, and customer requirements. Verify that import and export documents for inbound and outbound shipments are accurate, interacting with customers and suppliers for any due corrections or clarifications. Serve as the point of contact for all Intercompany shipments. Work with couriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and both external and internal customers to handle and coordinate import-export related issues, coordinated by GTC Check documents related to incoming materials and update master data as necessary, following existing procedures. Request quotations from couriers and coordinate shipments. Work under the supervision of GTC on activities related to updates of applicable regulations, customs clearances, and relationships with ADM and customs brokers. Suggest and participate in continuous training on new regulations related to import/export activities. Maintain the archiving of import and export documentation. Skills and Knowledge: Proven track record in logistics, with experience in import/export and related document flows for land and air shipments. Must have understanding of international trade compliance, including customs regulations, combined nomenclature, and free trade agreements. Proficient in English and Italian, both written and spoken. Proactive, reliable, and able to complete assigned tasks in a highly dynamic context. Excellent personal skills, a problem-solving demeanor, and a strong focus on customer happiness. Strong attention to detail, adaptability to changes, and the ability to use appropriate communication channels to express concerns and suggestions. Basic digital literacy and knowledge of AS400. Ability to work in a team environment and to work independently and accurately with direct supervision.
