We are looking to recruit a new member of staff at the Marghera Office (VE, Italy) location as soon as possible: Logistics Analyst New Builds - Europe PURPOSE: Support and coordinate logistics functions for New Build projects.
Work with internal and external groups including purchasing, warehouse, shipyards, transportation companies and vendors to accomplish goals.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: Review, analyze and perform inventory adjustments in PODS, MXP and AMOS systems and executes Monthly physical Inventory at NCLH warehouses.
Follow up on orders readiness and availability, PO receiving processes, notify purchasing dept.
and New Build Project staff of any discrepancies, shortages and/or back-orders.
Coordinate inbound / outbound traffic, within the European countries.
Maximize the cost effectiveness of this function.
Review, reconcile and provide variance explanations on vessel specific KPI reports.
Applies tactical processes daily within the established business rules.
Analyze data for immediate implementation and/or communicate findings to management.
Manage and approve logistics movements with vendors, warehouse, and other departments in a cost-effective yet timely manner.
Assist Business Owners, Project Managers, Vessels Officers and Vessel Buyers to improve efficiency, productivity, and processes during New Build projects.
Review and ensure all inbound containers are planned and tracked according to New Build projects timeline.
Communicate container bookings information to local New build Team.
Request, receive and approve optimum pricing from approved carriers for urgent/special deliveries.
Process invoices for payment based on previously approved service quotations assigning costs to respective business units, budget, and project codes.
Support, research data gathering and reports at the direction of the Manager and Director, Logistics.
Assist logistics management with end of the month inventory reports for all assigned projects.
Track and report progress of loading plans identify risks and create contingency plans and ensure all these are documented and properly approved.
Collaborate with internal and external business owners, including suppliers and third-party logistics suppliers, to meet common goals and resolve conflicting issues.
Monitor the receiving and releasing process of owner supplies at remote project warehouses.
Support and execute reverse logistic strategies at the conclusion of each project, work with operating group to coordinate the ultimate disposition of owner's goods.
Support the local Logistics Team in planning and supervising owner's' supplies loading onboard New Build Projects.
Coordinate with local Logistics Team, Business Owners, and shipyard Team all the transfers between external and internal warehouses.
Perform other job-related functions as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE: Associate Degree in Business, Management or related field of study or any equivalent combination of relevant background and work experience.
Minimum 3-4 years logistics related experience.
Familiar with standard logistic concepts, practices, and procedures.
Good problem-solving skills and basic analytical skills.
Detail-oriented and organizational skills sufficient to review and process orders efficiently.
Must be able to perform a variety of routine administrative tasks in a dynamic environment.
Must be flexible with regards to frequent changes with ability to perform assigned responsibilities independently with routine supervision.
Ability to prioritize tasks while supporting organizational and customer needs in a team-based environment.
Very good communication skills and very good customer service skills.
Intermediate-level proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Excel.
Working knowledge of procurement tools and systems.
Very good knowledge of English and Italian.
Knowledge of other foreign languages an advantage.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS: Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time.
Requires ability to climb, stoop, kneel, and reach.
Must be able to move and/or lift up to 30 pounds.
Work is performed inside a warehouse environment; for the most part the ambient temperature will depend on the temperatures outdoors.
Must be authorized and able to drive a motor vehicle in order to travel to and between the warehouses, pier, vendors and headquarters.
