We are continuously growing and we are looking for a professional Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) Data Scientist to join our UniQue Ispra team.In this role, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our customers in the public sector and you will be responsible for developing new business by identifying profitable opportunities, maintaining your client portfolio by building strong, long-lasting relationships, and monitoring the progress of the projects, with the aim to provide excellent client service and added value services.What will you be bringing to the team?
Collect business requirement and develop advanced data collection solutions, with special focus on data related to different key sectors (as related to food sectors, including those for which PEFCRs are existing or under-development); Produces data models according to specific problems statements, with particular focus on datasets on Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and Environmental Footprint (EF); Identify, collect, convert and update different data types/sets in several locations and (life cycle inventory) databases Support for the development and testing of data for dedicated (web-based) tool(s) for the calculation of environmental footprint and, in particular, of toxicity and ecotoxicity impacts.
Assessing quality of available datasets (including undergoing actions to improve data quality for existing LCA datasets) as necessary for the EU EPLCA and LCDN.
Write the different documentation associated with the tasks and liaise with other project teams as necessary to address cross-project interdependencies.
What do you need to succeed in this position?
Knowledge in trends/anomalies detection in life cycle datasets, with special focus on data related to life cycle assessment of food products compliant with the EF/ILCD schemes.
Knowledge in data analytics, in particular related to analysis of life cycle inventory and impact assessment datasets as in use in main Life Cycle Assessment software (e.g.
OpenLCA, SimaPro or Gabi) Knowledge of chemical assessment models and methods (e.g.
USETOX) Good knowledge on development of datasets for analysis/modelling tools and techniques, as in particular related to life cycle analysis software and tools for impact assessment Good knowledge in assessing quality of available datasets (including undergoing actions to improve data quality for existing LCA data) as necessary for the EU EPLCA and LCDN.
Ability to efficiently and fast identify, collect, convert and update different data types/sets in several locations and (life cycle inventory) databases, as related to data from different sectors relevant for the EF method (and in particular, related to food) Ability to efficiently and fast test and update data related to different impact assessment methods (in particular those related to toxicity and ecotoxicity impacts) Good knowledge on European Institution tools and software for LCA/EF (as included in the EPLCA, in particular data validation tools) and data formats for life cycle data Ability to give business and technical presentations Ability to cope with fast changing technologies used in data modelling and analysis Very good communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences Analysis and problem solving skills Capability to write clear and structured technical documents in English At Uni Systems, we are providing equal employment opportunities and banning any form of discrimination on grounds of gender, religion, race, color, nationality, disability, social class, political beliefs, age, marital status, sexual orientation or any other characteristics.
