Offer Description: The research will focus on the application of the Life Cycle Assessment methodology to products of the agrifood sector, for assessing their energy and environmental performances and identifying the hot spots of the supply chains.
In detail, the energy resources and raw materials use, the pollutants emissions, and the waste production of the examined products will be estimated with a "life cycle thinking" approach.
Once the supply chains are examined and the necessary data is collected, the energy and environmental performances of the selected products will be evaluated, summarized in specific performance indices related to resource consumption and environmental impacts.
Lastly, based on the obtained results, eco-design strategies will be defined to reduce the energy and environmental impacts and to increase the circularity of the examined products.
