Job Opportunity: Director - High Yield Bond Origination (Leveraged Finance) Location: Milan, Italy
Our client is a leading Global Bank, who is looking to add a Director to their Acquisition and Structured Finance team in Milan. As a Director in the team, you will play a pivotal role in presenting the bank's debt capabilities to financial sponsors and identifying key financial sponsor-driven transactions in order to underwrite leveraged loans and originate High Yield Bonds.
Key Responsibilities: Deal Origination and Engagement:Identify and develop transaction opportunities, working closely with Sponsor Coverage to engage interested sponsors.Manage the pitching phase, including initial transaction analysis, defining financing views, and preparing marketing materials.Transaction Management:Lead the commercial discussions and negotiations with the syndication team.Support and manage the deal team in preparing internal presentations, memos, and materials for approvals.Maintain and manage relationships with financial sponsors, ensuring the bank is selected as the financing partner.Credit and Risk Analysis:Conduct in-depth analysis of new opportunities, focusing on credit and underwriting risks.Manage the internal credit process and present transactions to committees.Proactively monitor and review portfolio exposures.Client and Team Development:Foster a client-centric culture, providing top-tier service to both external and internal clients.Facilitate cross-selling with other business lines (Investment Banking, Global Markets, Real Assets).Train and develop junior team members, enhancing overall team performance.Negotiation and Documentation:Negotiate term sheets and legal documentation with financial sponsors and their legal counsel for syndicated leveraged loans and high yield bonds.Coordinate transaction execution with various teams, including Financial Sponsors Coverage, Syndications, Risk Department, Legal, Compliance, and others.Qualifications: Minimum of 7 years' experience in mid and large cap leveraged finance.Strong credit background and financial sponsor client-facing experience.Proven track record of originating and executing broadly syndicated LBO financings in Italy/Europe with international sponsors.Experience in reviewing and negotiating term sheets and legal documentation for syndicated leveraged loans and high yield bonds.Skills and Attributes: Detail-oriented, organized, and entrepreneurial mindset.Excellent team player with strong interpersonal, communication, and managerial skills.Ability to interact effectively with financial sponsors and all stakeholders.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Fluency in Italian and English is a must.If you are a driven professional with a passion for finance and a proven track record in leveraged finance, we invite you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
