The Green Assets Divison's goal is to create a significant, transparent, financially sound green assets portfolio (consisting of solar PV and onshore wind power plants), resulting in positive shareholder return with reasonable risk profile via the deep understanding of the energy markets. We are dedicated to develop and build a 2000+ MWp - geographically and technologically diversified - green portfolio by 2026 in Europe.
We are currently looking for the new Legal Director of MET Group's Green Assets Division, based in Milan, Italy.
**Job Description**:
- Providing full-scope legal support to the Executive Chairman, the Renewables CEO and the origination, project development, construction and O&M teams in the Green Assets Division,
- Reviewing, drafting and negotiating a range of contracts to support the Green Assets Division in meeting their respective business growth strategies and objectives,
- Be an active supporter and driver of the expansion of the Green Assets Division's renewables portfolio across Europe, support M&A activity, due diligence reviews as well as post-merger processes and integration,
- Manage all legal aspects in connection with the development and construction of utility-scale renewable projects throughout a range of jurisdictions in Europe, including Spain, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Poland, Hungary and Romania,
- Providing day-to-day legal support to the O&M team regarding the operational PV and wind portfolio of the Green Assets Division in Spain, Hungary and Bulgaria,
- Ensuring that legal and regulatory changes are properly monitored in each and every relevant jurisdiction,
- As Legal Director, manage a team of two legal counsels dedicated to the Green Assets Division,
- Manage the relations (and budget) with a range of external legal partners (including local law firms) and demonstrate an ability to effectively oversee their services,
- Take part in shaping the Green Assets Division's strategy to reach MET Group's ambitious energy transition targets,
- Work in close cooperation with the Group Legal Team, and the Group M&A and Strategy Team.
**Qualifications**:
- Legal degree from a leading law school,
- LLM (Master of Laws) is highly desirable,
- Approximately 12-15 years' experience, preferably at least partially in-house,
- Experience in managing teams of lawyers is desirable,
- Experience in the energy industry, preferably with a focus on the renewable sector,
- Excellent command of English; Italian or German is a plus,
- High level of initiative, motivation and independence.
