Lead Product Owner Why does this role exist?
As Lead Product Owner for our Italian Best of Breed solutions, you are explicitly responsible for ensuring value and viability for our local Payroll/HCM domain. In this role we require you to have a deep understanding of your end-users and customers, and an understanding of ADP's business.
Understanding your end-users and customers means not only being an expert on why your product is being chosen or used, it also means you understand the market, the competitive landscape, and the relevant technology and industry trends.
Understanding ADP's business means learning how your product is imagined, engineered, marketed, sold, implemented, and serviced, as well as any legal, contractual or compliance constraints.

As Lead Product Owner, you are accountable for the business results achieved in your product domain:
Strives for simplicity and stays organized to meet goals. Understands key business metrics and how product results impact them. Clearly articulate the vision, strategies, priorities, and desired outcomes to key partners across ADP. Develop user stories and requirements while evaluating their potential and practicality by analyzing market and customer needs. How is this role positioned?
In this role, you are part of the Southern Europe Product organization for ADP Employer Services International (ESI). You will report to the W-SEU Director Product Management and be part of the W-SEU Product Management team. Your peers will be responsible for products in the following domains:
Enterprise HCM and Global Payroll Best of Breed Product Markets (France, Switzerland, Italy, Iberia) Next Generation Payroll and Leave Integrations and Connectivity AI, Data and Reporting Product Excellence, Enablement and Implementation In your role, you form a 'Product Triad' with Product Development and UX. The three of you are responsible for six distinct product risks: value, viability, feasibility, delivery, usability, and desirability.
What skill set am I looking for?
As a Lead Product Owner, I'm looking for a product owner with product, technology, and business acumen. I expect you to:
Manage execution for a specific product from product definition and planning through production, release, and end of life. Work and accomplish goals with a moderate level of guidance and direction. Work positively with development, design, and business teams. Think of creative ways to solve problems. Support managing the product backlog (grooming, prioritization, and refinement), working day-to-day with the product SCRUM teams to clarify requirements, balancing business needs with technical requirements, and recommending alternative technical approaches to meet design requirements as needed. Support product leadership strategy by articulating the vision and mission of the product roadmap, including implementation and prioritization. Product skill set:
Serve as the central resource with design, process, test, quality, and marketing as the product(s) move to production and distribution. Articulate ideas clearly to various stakeholders, including clients, associates, and ADP leadership. Understand the needs of your clients and empathize with their experiences. Generate followers in and outside the organization by guiding your stakeholders towards shared goals and outcomes. Balance the needs of different stakeholders and address challenges creatively and effectively. Stay up to date with industry trends and competitor offerings, curious and adapting to change. Technical skill set:
Basic understanding of programming languages. Proficient technical skills to analyze and visualize metrics to drive informed product decisions. Familiar with UX principles and tools (Pendo, Figma). Technical acumen to understand data architecture and data exchange protocols such as APIs, Web Services, file exchanges, etc. Proficiency in tools to support the product management process (JIRA). Understanding of the software development lifecycle and DevOps practices. Ability to create clear and concise product documentation. Awareness of data protection regulations. Other skill set:
Highly motivated to develop and acquire a high level of knowledge about product management, ADP customers, and Payroll/HCM domains. Strong communication and presentation skills, including the ability to communicate technical issues simply and convincingly to help drive fast decisions. Ability to communicate effectively, explaining complex information to others in straightforward situations with internal stakeholders, i.e., engineering teams to accomplish project goals. Working knowledge of workplace regulations and processes. Prior experience conducting formal usability studies and developing web experiences for customers. Prior experience working as a product owner in an agile development environment. Fluency in Italian and English. Live our corporate values.
