WFP supports national food and health systems across more than 80 countries as they strive to provide access to healthy, nutritious diets and reduce micronutrient deficiencies.
This work includes generating data on food and nutrition security and status, dietary diversity, and access to nutritious foods.The Lead Nutrition Policy and Engagement Specialist will play a critical role in the MIMI team, within the WFP Nutrition and Food Quality Service.
Under the supervision of the MIMI Team Lead, this position will lead workstreams concerned with:Engaging with country-level stakeholdersIdentifying policy priorities and questions relevant to micronutrient malnutritionCo-designing user-facing evidence outputsSupporting the application of evidence to inform advocacy and decision-makingDocumenting the process of evidence translation for future guidanceACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:Lead engagement with WFP country office staff and other relevant partners and stakeholders.Map and explore data sources and indicators relevant to food consumption and nutrition policy.Supervise the work of 1-2 other team members.Oversee the development of reports to capture outputs from stakeholder engagement.Lead activities to disseminate and support country stakeholders in applying evidence to nutrition policy.Prepare and provide training on evidence translation or advocacy.QUALIFICATIONS EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:Education:Masters degree or higher in Nutrition, Public Health, Public Policy or a related field.Experience:5-8 years of successful experience across the international nutrition or public health policy.Experience engaging with global and LMIC government organisations.Knowledge Skills:Experience conducting research to inform policy in nutrition.Excellent communication and diplomacy skills.WFP LEADERSHIP FRAMEWORK:WFP Leadership Framework guides the common standards of behavior that guide how we work together to accomplish our mission.REASONABLE ACCOMMODATION:WFP is dedicated to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion.
