Lead Infrastructure Engineer

Senior/Lead Infrastructure - Linux Long-term contract Hybrid - 2x onsite per week Chicago, IL ***C2C Inquiries from vendors will not be entertained*** Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sr/Lead Infrastructure Engineer specializing in Linux for a one-year, fully remote contract position within the United States.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and optimizing our Linux infrastructure to ensure high availability, performance, and security.
Key Responsibilities: Linux Management: Design, implement, and manage Linux-based infrastructure.
Optimization: Monitor and optimize Linux infrastructure performance and capacity.
Security: Implement and manage security measures for Linux infrastructure.
Backup and Recovery: Ensure robust backup and recovery processes are in place and tested regularly.
Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve Linux-related issues.
Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation of Linux configurations, processes, and procedures.
Qualifications: Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in infrastructure engineering with a focus on Linux.
Technical Skills: Proficient in Linux (e.g., RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu), scripting (e.g., Bash, Python), and security best practices.
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Communication: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., RHCE, Linux+), are highly desirable.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
