Job PurposeJob Duties and ResponsibilitiesContribute to the creation of technical safety requirements.Develop software plans in compliance with relevant functional safety standards.Derive software safety requirements for application and/or platform software.Specify safety mechanisms (e.g., plausibility check, memory protection) in application and/or platform software.Develop HSIS (Hardware-Software Interface Specification) between software and internal/externally developed hardware.Support implementation of software safety requirements at the application and/or platform software layer.Support the development of a software architectural design that satisfies software safety requirements and other software requirements including ASIL decomposition and freedom-from-interference.Drive safety analysis at the software level using techniques such as FTA, SW-FMEA, and dependent failure analysis.Support specification of test procedures and testing of software requirements at unit, software integration, and embedded software levels.Engage with core process/method/tool teams to improve development methods per ASPICE and ISO26262.Lead issue, change, and configuration management on projects as required.Mentor, coach, and train team members as required.Required Qualifications3+ years of experience in developing safety software within the automotive or equivalent industries (e.g., aerospace).Degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a relevant engineering discipline.Experience with ISO 26262, emphasizing Parts 4, 6, 8, and 9.Knowledge of AUTOSAR architecture and integration of safety libraries from vendors.Experience in system and software engineering practices such as requirements authoring, architecture development, failure analysis, and test development.Proficiency in C programming and/or model-based design using Simulink.Experience with vehicle core domains, such as vehicle power up/power down, network architecture, and vehicle reset, is a plus.Familiarity with requirements management tools (e.g., Polarion), issue tracking tools (Jira), and SW version control tools (e.g., Git, Azure, SVN).Experience with AUTOSAR-based tool chains, preferably with Vector DaVinci Developer and Configurator.Familiarity with ASPICE and agile software development processes.Good interpersonal and communication skills with a high level of integrity.Proven experience working on multiple projects.Strong team player driven to exceed expectations and meet deadlines.We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and do not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, color, sex, age, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, status as a veteran, or basis of disability or any other federal, state or local protected class.
