You will serve as a LEAD FIREFIGHTER (BASIC LIFE SUPPORT/ HAZARDOUS MATERIAL TECHNICIAN) in the NSA NAPLES of NAVSUPPACT NAPLES, Italy. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a firefighter.
Specialized Experience may include: Serve as a Lead Firefighter and Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT) Technician, overseeing a crew engaged in structural firefighting, Confined Space Rescue, and Shipboard firefighting, which may include large multistoried buildings, industrial areas, and/or base storage facilities.Respond to emergencies and direct crew during all hazardous situations.Oversee departmental programs and maintain files/reports on a Safety Management Program (ex. ESAMS) ensuring they are updated and maintained.Perform hazard and risk assessment and conduct a complete incident analysis.Comply with health, safety, and environmental rules and procedures and perform work in a manner that enhances the safety of the work environment. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: You will be required to obtain and maintain a current HAZARDOUS MATERIAL TECHNICIAN certification.You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.You will be required to obtain and maintain a current State or National Registry Emergency Medical Technician-Basic Life Support (NREMT-B) certification.You will be required to obtain and maintain a current DRIVER/OPERATOR PUMPER certification.You will be required to obtain and maintain a current FIRE INSPECTOR I certification.You will be required to obtain and maintain a current FIRE INSTRUCTOR I certification.You will be required to obtain and maintain a current FIRE OFFICER I certification.You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.If you are a dual citizen, please identify the countries of citizenship. May be subject to recall.This position requires the ability to discern colors, contrast, and depth.This position requires the employee to work under adverse environmental conditions and falls under the respiratory protection program and hearing conservation program.This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
