As a Diagnostic Services Calibration Lead Engineer within the Diagnostic Coordination and Services Calibration Chapter, you will be responsible for the development of diagnostics and their integration with the service and manufacturing environments.
The team are responsible for ensuring all diagnostic and service routines owned by various functions are implemented with high quality, in a manner which ensures vehicles are built correctly and faults can be pinpointed to the minimal replaceable unit.
The team have a direct influence on vehicle quality and the cost and ease of repairing systems.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities You would have lead responsibility on a given programme to ensure the team delivers the following: * Development of diagnostic calibrations for multiple JLR vehicle variants * Validation of Diagnostics and routines on Hardware in the Loop rigs, Powertrain in the Loop rigs, and Vehicles * Alignment with related groups across the JLR Engineering and wider organisation * Fault Tree Coordination DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) coordination OBD Certification Team Support Liase with Calibration Engineers and document a clear service instruction for the faults * Diagnostic Service Protocol (Part 1) testing and validation Application Software & Boot loader Validation in compliance with JLR standards * Diagnostic Service (Part 2) Development and validation Diagnostic identifiers (DIDs), Routines, IO Service test, software download testing, other mandatory diagnostic service protocols * End of line specification & testing * Fault reaction and mitigation coordination * Software Over the Air (SOTA) validation * Fault event logging 'Flight Recorder' validation Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience * Experience of controls and calibration delivery * Knowledge of propulsion systems, including internal combustion engine and battery electric vehicle fundamentals * Great ability to solve problems * Experience in Diagnostic development (Unified Diagnostic Services - ISO 14229) * Experience in an Service and / or manufacturing environment * Experience with Diagnostic Trouble codes and Bosch Diagnostic Strategy Manager (DSM) calibration * A drive to improve ways of working and seeks out opportunities to do things better * Ability to build strong, valuable relationships at all levels of the business * Ability to get the best out of others and positively impact the performance of those they work with Desirable Knowledge, Skills and Experience * Familiar with ETAS INCA, Measure Data Analyser (MDA), AVL Concerto and Matlab & Simulink Experience with AVL OBD manager * Validation of systems * A logical approach to problem solving (Six Sigma training ideal but can be learned in the role) * Knowledge of Software over the Air implementation #J-18808-Ljbffr
