Areas of Responsibility:Directly reporting to the Head of Layout Engineering, the Candidate:
will be responsible for the definition and design of wind farms and solar plants, identifying and selecting the best technical solutions while respecting performance indicators (quality, time, costs), territorial constraints, and grid connection.managing external suppliers and advisors.will be responsible for project drawing, layout optimization, CapEx calculation (BoP and Grid), project validation and due diligence, running sophisticated internal models, statistical and GIS models, referring to project best practices, constraints, and national/international regulations and legislation. These responsibilities will refer to all types of Project: Green Field, Brown Field, Repowering, Reblading, and M&A.strictly working with the Permitting, Legal, Real Estate, Procurement, and Resource Assessment Departments.will develop optimal layouts of wind farms and solar plants in all stages of development. This includes the analysis and optimization of wind turbines and solar panels positions, grid connection, crane pads, roads, electrical cables, and resource measuring equipment, managing the whole Layout optimization while respecting all constraints.Key Functions:Plan and define the appropriate layout design at prospective sites to ensure layout optimization and the reliability of the preliminary CapEx estimate (BoP and Grid).Collect, filter, quality control, and analyze available CapEx and GIS data in order to understand all project conditions at every site and obtain the final detailed CapEx estimate.Perform layout optimization and geospatial analysis using software, industry-standard tools, and internal models to identify turbine locations with minimum CapEx and maximum energy output, factoring in all project setbacks & constraints.Assess the site suitability in terms of BoP, accessibility (crane pads and roads), and grid connection with respect to wind turbine selection.Perform uncertainty analysis of CapEx calculations in order to assess risk.Provide support to Permitting, Legal, Real Estate, Procurement, and Resource Assessment Departments in Layout analysis and optimizations.Studies:Engineering degree (Electrical, Environmental, Mechanical, Aeronautical, Energy).
Work Experience:2-3 years in Engineering of international renewable energy projects. Direct experience in Layout Engineering and CapEx calculation is considered a plus.
Languages:Bilingual in English and an additional European language (French or Spanish).
IT Skills:Deep knowledge of MS Office Applications.Expert in using relevant design software, such as AutoCAD, GIS, PVcase.General knowledge of specific software (e.g., WindPro, WAsP, PVSyst, Global Mapper) and coding (e.g., Matlab, VBA, SQL) is considered a plus.Know-How & Managerial Skills:Strong interpersonal skills, high attention to detail, organizational and multi-tasking skills.Demonstrated project management skills.Strong analytical and quantitative skills.Additional Information:The Candidate will be based at head offices in Genoa, Italy, with sporadic travels to the project sites located in different European Countries.
