The responsibilities of this job include a 50:50 split between research activities related to material development and drug delivery experiments, and administrative and organizational activities.Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe individual will be responsible for helping to synthesize polymers, and to formulate and characterize nanoparticles.
They will also be responsible for maintaining cell cultures, and conducting and analyzing assays using flow cytometry, microscopy, and other assays to describe cell-NP interactions.The individual will be responsible for administrative duties required to sustain the research program, including purchasing and storing supplies, the repair and maintenance of equipment, data management policies, and safety and animal protocol documentation and compliance.The individual is expected to prepare research findings for inclusion in peer-reviewed journals or presentations in national or international conferences.The individual will meet with the research team (fellow researchers, faculty, and other industry peers) to share research progress and inspire new ideas during group brainstorming.Perform other duties and assist with projects as assigned.Minimum QualificationsFormal EducationBachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Material Science, or related fieldWork ExperienceUndergraduate lab experienceWork SkillsMust have strong communication, organizational and problem-solving skills.
