Job Opportunity: Lab Technician/Research Assistant IRCCS San Raffaele Scientific Institute in Milan, Italy, is looking for a Lab Technician/Research Assistant to join the Process Development Lab (PDL), led by Marina Radrizzani at the San Raffaele Telethon Institute for Gene Therapy (SR-Tiget) (https://research.hsr.it/en/institutes/san-raffaele-telethon-institute-fo...).
This position will focus on projects aimed at the genetic engineering of T lymphocytes and hematopoietic stem cells (HSC). SR-Tiget was created in 1996 as a joint-venture between Fondazione Telethon and Ospedale San Raffaele (OSR), with the mission to perform cutting-edge research on gene and cell therapy and to translate its results into therapeutic advances for genetic diseases.
The Institute is located within the OSR campus, which includes a large multi-disciplinary research hospital, a biomedical research center, a university, and also hosts several biotechnology companies. Over the years, SR-Tiget has pioneered contributions to the gene and cell therapy field with significant discoveries in:
Vector design Gene transfer and gene editing strategies Stem cell biology Identity and mechanism of action of regulatory cells in immune responses Innate immune cells in cancer SR-Tiget has also established the resources and framework for translating these advances into novel experimental therapies and has implemented several successful gene therapy clinical trials, which have already treated over 120 patients and led to the filing and approval of 2 novel advanced therapy medicines.
Main Activities: Isolation, culture, and genetic modification of T lymphocytes and HSC (lentiviral vector transduction, gene editing) Process scale-up and standardization Cell-based assays, molecular assays, flow cytometry analyses Preparation of standard lab procedures and protocols General lab support Who We Are Looking For: Bachelor or Master Degree (Biomedical Laboratory Technician, Biology, Biotechnology or equivalent), PhD as a plus Strong lab wet experience High motivation to work in the field of Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (ATMP) High accuracy, reliability, and precision Friendly, collaborative, pro-active mindset Good oral and written English Experience in Good Manufacturing Practices, automated cell manipulation systems and/or ATMP as a plus Work Details: Type of contract: To be defined, depending on qualification and experience
