**Human Technopole (HT) **is a new interdisciplinary life science research institute, created and supported by the Italian Government, with the aim of developing innovative strategies to improve human health.
HT is composed of five Centers: Neurogenomics, Computational Biology, Structural Biology, Genomics, and Health Data Science.
The Centers work together to enable interdisciplinary research and to create an open, collaborative environment that will help promote life science research both nationally and internationally.
The Data Generation and Experimental Validation unit is supported by the Genomics Core Facility of HT, with which the Computational Biology Research Centre interacts on a day-to-day basis.
**Key tasks and responsibilities**:
- Coordinating and maintaining a molecular biology laboratory to process human samples with genomic techniques;
- Aiding the teams with tissue culture of cell lines and organoids;
- Interacting with a team of technical posts within the Centre that are part of the experimental infrastructure;
- Being responsible for implementing priorities and resource planning for the Centre;
- Supervising sample preparation, data collection, evaluation and quality control;
- Coordinating sample tracking and storage;
- Applying, generating, and optimizing protocols for human organoid cultures;
- Generating and maintaining organoid lines and ensuring that all primary human material is stored and processed according to the health and safety and ethics committee guidance;
- Performing CRISPR screens on _in vitro_ models.
- Being responsible for Health and Safety in the laboratory;
- Keeping track of lab stocks and order consumables at need;
- Cooperating with other groups to implement novel technologies;
- Constantly promoting protocols optimization to maximize cost-effectiveness;
- Closely following technological developments that could benefit the center;
- Interacting with the manufacturers and engineers of the relevant equipment;
- Organizing introductions and assistance for new users of the unit;
- Helping to select, lead and mentor junior staff;
- Participating actively in the overall development of HT core facilities;
- Building effective links and collaborations within HT;
- Developing links with other national and international genomics facilities.
**Essential requirements**:
- Hands-on experience with tissue culture;
- Fluency in English - HT is an international research institute.
**Preferential requirements**:
- Experience with setting up workflows and robust standard operating procedures for quality assurance;
- Experience in sample preparation and tracking, specifically human tissues;
- Excellent laboratory skills and trouble-shooting;
- Ability to interact effectively with other teams and work synergistically to drive projects forward;
- Highly organized and meticulous;
- Proven leadership, communication, team building and problem-solving skills;
- Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity.
**Other key competencies**:
- Experience in a managerial role in a laboratory or facility would be advantageous;
- Experience in genomic techniques, transfection, and knockdown experiments (e.g., CRISPR/Cas9 screens or similar technologies) would be advantageous.
