We are looking for a Junior Technical Advisor to join our Business and Investors Advisory (BIA) team within Arup Milan Office.
Your role:
This is a Junior Advisor/Analyst position. Typical projects within the Business and Investors Advisory (BIA) service include providing commercial, technical and economic advice to financial investors, infrastructure operators and concessionaires, governments, developers and international financial institutions in the broader infrastructure sector.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a range of quantitative skills, from data handling and presentation to financial/economic modelling, to our clients on a range of projects in the transport, traditional energy and social infrastructure sectors, always taking responsibility and accountability for the quality of outputs.
In this role, you will work on individual projects, typically comprising technical, commercial and environmental, social and governance (ESG) due diligence to inform lenders, buyers or sellers of infrastructure projects. The focus of the technical due diligence work is to assist in the evaluation of potential investments by identifying and assessing technical, operational, commercial and reputational risks and opportunities.
The role will also extend to carrying out wider advisory work in the public and private sectors, as appropriate to the individual's skills. Other activities may include:
Assisting with project management tasks
Contributing to research and analysis assignments
Supporting client-facing tasks
Developing sector knowledge
Process improvement and development
Required:
Key requisites:
You have a relevant engineering degree, or equivalent experience with infrastructure projects including transport (highways, rails, metro, airports, smart and low emission mobility), social infrastructures (hospitals, schools), energy (district heating, biomass, hydrogen, hydro power production).
You have 0 to 3 years of post-graduation experience and track record in commercial or transaction due diligences in the infrastructure sector.
· Strong quantitative and analytical skills
· Strong interest in and passion for infrastructure
· Strong knowledge of both Excel and PowerPoint
· You are fluent in both written and spoken English
· Team player, good under delivery pressure whilst maintaining quality outputs
· Ability to rapidly switch from infrastructure-related projects in different fields.
