We have the presence, expertise, and complete IT services to meet clients' business needs anywhere, anytime, and to offer our professionals challenging and rewarding careers.Since a few years ago, CGI recently established offices in Italy, and the business is rapidly growing in Frascati (Rome), Milan, and also in Catania!This position is related to providing delivery and support to complex IT solutions to support automation processes in the production plants of a World Leader in semiconductor-based solutions, providing position contribution to people's lives, including solutions for Smart Driving and the Internet of Things.The work will be carried out at the customer premises in Catania (CT), Italy.Your future duties and responsibilitiesThe automation developer is accountable for delivering support (service request and incident management on automation solutions), developing and configuring new IT automation solutions according to client specifications, and supporting the acceptance phase.Main responsibilities are:Development and acceptance activities:Ensure new automation development (specification gathering, equipment connection, equipment characterization, development and parameters settings, baseline set-up, documentation & knowledge management).Organize, build, and perform acceptance tests for any new automation development (from the request stage to the release of the solution in the production environment).Service support activities:Ensure L2 and L3 incident troubleshooting and deliver service requests as per the target Service Level Agreements and required productivity.Participate in daily incident meetings with IT service teams and contribute to problem management and continuous improvement.The successful candidate will be working in a team of 3-6 people at the customer premise and will receive dedicated training on the specific processes necessary to carry out the specific tasks in this project.Required qualifications to be successful in this roleYou have programming abilities and at least 1 year of experience in C#.Key technical competencies: C#Optional technical competencies: VBScript, SECS GEM.Other competencies: organized, client and result-oriented, able to work in both an engineering and production environment.English is mandatory.Insights you can act onWhile technology is at the heart of our clients' digital transformation, we understand that people are at the heart of business success.When you join CGI, you become a trusted advisor, collaborating with colleagues and clients to bring forward actionable insights that deliver meaningful and sustainable outcomes.
