Role and Responsibilities As a Junior Simulator Technician, the incumbent will support all training center operations activities to provide a smooth, efficient, and high quality of service of a brand-new Training Center located in Rome, Italy.
In addition, the incumbent will strive to achieve CAE goal on providing world class flight simulator training center operations aligned with CAE's Vision as a global training partner of choice to enhance safety, efficiency, and readiness towards all aspects of the training center operations.
General overview: Support technical and operational all aspect of the Flight Simulator Training Devices and Cabin Crew Training Devices as applicable.
Attend flight crew and maintenance calls, perform daily readiness, perform scheduled preventative maintenance, support the running of Qualification Test Guides (QTGs).
Identify, diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve training device issues and AOGs.
Identify recurring issues and work to pursue permanent solutions.
Seek and make improvements to procedures related to various training device maintenance tasks.
Support recurrent minor updates of Nav DB, Terr DB, OIS & EFB Charts, Documents, and Perf Data, as well as IOS Lesson Plan uploads.
Maintain, keep track, and request consumable items and tools required to perform the PMTs and Daily Readiness.
Support logistics duties, including yearly inventories, re-arrangement of stores, packing, preparation for shipping, etc.
Pursue knowledge and skills to strive to become a technical expert in one or more simulator system.
(i.e.
Visual, Motion, Flt Controls, etc…) Workplace Culture / Health and Safety / Environment: Foster a workplace culture that is consistent and aligned with the overall organizational culture that emphasizes the mission, vision, guiding principles and values of the organization.
Paramount importance to occupational Safety and Health in the workplace and associated metrics.
Support compliance and environment activities aligned with CAE Management System and Global Environmental policies.
Qualifications and skill set requirements: Technical College Diploma or Degree in Electronics, Electrical or Aviation Field and at least 1 to 3 years of related work experience.
Must have the rights to work within the EU.
Excellent knowledge of the English language, read, spoken, and written.
Knowledge of the Italian language would be preferable and beneficial in support of the operations.
Customer oriented, with the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with the customer.
Good working knowledge of computer mainframe/architecture, networking, operating systems, and programming languages.
Ability to write code and make minor software changes.
Basic technical background (Hardware and Software) and familiarity with FSTD technical issues, across all systems, specifically: motion, visual, avionics, dynamics of flight, aircraft systems, etc.… Fundamental knowledge of various aircraft types, including Commercial Jetliners (Airbus family).
Good understanding of aircraft and training device terminology.
Basic understanding of Commercial Aviation training.
Basic knowledge of local & International (EASA, ENAC, etc.)
regulations, with demonstrated experience, as they pertain to FSTDs.
Proficient computer skills with knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
