RINA is currently recruiting for a Junior Offshore Geotechnical Engineer to join its office in Rozzano, Rome, or Genoa, Italy within the Energy Engineering Solutions Division.MissionThe successful candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and responsible for his/her technical duties, capable of working autonomously and under supervision, executing projects within the division, interfacing, and coordinating with other peers.
You will work on challenging offshore and onshore projects, providing consultancy on ground characterization and foundation design.
Working together as a global team, you will be expected to achieve extraordinary results in a demanding and challenging business environment that is constantly changing.Key AccountabilitiesDevelop geotechnical engineering projects from the preliminary phase to the detailed design, as well as the technical control of projects developed by other parties under the supervision of a principal engineer or a managing engineer.Design foundation/retaining structures (bearing capacity, settlement, soil-structure interaction), slope stability, underground structures design, and other geotechnical topics.Develop finite element or difference models for static and dynamic analyses.Obtain soil and rock samples to determine compressibility, efficiency, strength, and other factors that affect the structure's behavior.Develop project schedules and deliverable timelines under the supervision of more experienced engineers.Prepare technical deliverables (technical reports, project performance documentation, and engineering drawings, etc.
).Prepare progress technical reports.Be aware and understand the Quality Policy and ensure that all assigned activities are executed in accordance with the RINA QMS.EducationMaster's Degree in Geotechnical Engineering.QualificationsExperience: Entry-level position with preferably 0-2 years of experience in geotechnical engineering or related fields.
