APPLICATION CLOSING DATE: December 8th 2024Human Technopole (HT) is an interdisciplinary life science research institute, created and supported by the Italian government, with the aim of developing innovative strategies to improve human health through a multidisciplinary and integrated approach, combining genomics, computational and structural biology, neuroscience, as well as population and health data science.The Health Data Science Centre (HDS) focuses on systematically generating, mobilising, and harvesting "big data" to create a dynamic and agnostic collection of information and deliver a new class of research that will enable a better understanding of the clinical, molecular, behavioural and environmental determinants of non-communicable diseases, ultimately benefiting patients and society.The HDS is seeking a Junior Data Manager to join the team and play a critical role in managing and developing large-scale health datasets.
The successful candidate, reporting to the Data Manager, will ensure the integrity, usability, and accessibility of our data assets while collaborating with researchers and scientists to facilitate computational analyses and research projects.Key tasks and responsibilities:Help manage and maintain large-scale health datasets, including data ingestion, processing, and storage.Collaborate to implement data collection strategies to ensure the agnostic and dynamic collection of information.Ensure data quality, integrity, and accessibility through regular monitoring and auditing.Collaborate with researchers and scientists to facilitate the utilization of data for research purposes and to design and implement data analysis pipelines.Provide technical support for data-related tasks and troubleshoot issues as needed.Develop and maintain documentation of data management processes and procedures.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the development of new research projects and proposals.Essential requirements:Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Health Informatics, or a related field.Experience with Linux, Python, and other relevant programming languages.Experience using version control tools (e.g., Git).Fluency in English – HT is an international research institute.Preferred requirements:Experience with High-Performance Computing (HPC) systems and distributed computing frameworks.Familiarity with data governance and compliance regulations.Experience in managing large amounts of data, preferably in a healthcare or research environment.Advantageous: Experience working with large biobanks (e.g., UK Biobank, FinnGen, etc).Organizational and social skills:Motivated and meticulous.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.Ability to work in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.Application instructions:Please apply by sending a CV and a detailed motivation letter in English only through the dedicated area below (Apply now).Main benefits:Welfare plans;Canteen service;Work-life balance provisions;Italian language training for foreigners;Parental leave up to 1 year and other support for new parents;Counseling;Flexible working hours;Remote working policy;Support for relocation;Special consideration will be given to candidates who are part of the protected categories list, according to L. 68/99.Number of positions offered: 1Contract offered: CCNL Chimico Farmaceutico, Fixed-term 3 years - employee level, with the possibility of renewal.Salary range: up to 40kThe position is based in Milan.
