Junior Construction Project Manager Location: Ideally Rome, Italy
Contract type: Full time, permanent, hybrid mode
Job Purpose We are seeking a Junior Construction Project Manager to join our team. In this role, you'll mainly focus on coordinating construction projects and managing administrative tasks. After a short training period, you'll also take on smaller projects independently. You'll be supporting our current Construction Project Manager in ensuring our New Centre Openings (NCO) and refurbishment programmes are completed on schedule, within budget, and to our design standards.
Key Responsibilities Project Coordination: Oversee the end-to-end delivery process in collaboration with our outsourced partners. Ensure clarity on expectations, deadlines, and timely escalation of any issues or risks. Administrative Support: Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Construction Project Manager. Project Management: After training, take charge of managing smaller end-to-end projects. Design Standards: Ensure partners manage fit outs in line with our global design and build standards. Refurbishment and Maintenance: Support planning and management of refurbishment and maintenance projects, minimizing disruption to customers and prioritizing return on investment. Engage Design and Build partners as appropriate. Stakeholder Management: Effectively manage internal and external stakeholders, prioritize work according to business needs, and maintain positive supplier relationships. Supplier Performance: Manage suppliers' performance in line with contractual agreements while keeping them engaged and committed to our NCO and refurbishment objectives. Network Utilization: Leverage a strong network of contacts to partner with the right suppliers. Required Skills, Experience & Qualifications:
Some project management experience in a fast-paced environment (Retail, Retail Banking, Hotels, or Professional Consultancy). Ability to manage multiple tasks to tight timescales and budget controls. Proactive problem-solving and customer-first approach. Highly commercial and results-focused, with experience in cost reduction and standardization. Strong attention to detail and ability to handle ambiguity and change. Resilience and focus on the big picture and end goal. Experience in refurbishment and maintenance management is desirable. Ability to positively influence stakeholders across countries and cultures. Experience selecting and managing partners for large Design and Build programmes through competitive tender processes is advantageous. English at the business level is a must.
