Kairòs Consortium of social cooperatives is looking for an IVY volunteer! The volunteer will support the Interreg project "CoFarm4Cities - Creating a sustainable model for urban fringe farming in Central Europe as an effective tool to prevent urban sprawl and to transition to a more sustainable food system and society" , under the Programme "Interreg Central Europe". The objective of the Interreg project "CoFarm4Cities" is to create a sustainable model for urban fringe farming in Central Europe as an effective tool to prevent urban sprawl and to transition to a more sustainable food system and society.
The volunteer will be carrying out the following tasks and activities:
Help the urban gardeners, especially the most vulnerable ones (people with disabilities and elderly people), with the daily maintenance. Help plan social events and initiatives for community gatherings, that will help the community of gardeners to connect with each other but also to connect with the larger community of Falchera. Assist our team of educators and beekeepers in preparing the green and outdoor education workshops for the community of gardeners and for the families/schools of Falchera and surroundings. Help with the daily maintenance of our biodiversity hub (pollinators oasis, aquaponic greenhouse, agroforestry system, permaculture gardens). Other information:
Financial support of: 32 euros per day (week-end and holidays included). Location: Torino, Italy. Start and duration: February, for 4 month(s). Languages*: English (B1), some knowledge of Italian, Spanish and French is optional. *Please be aware that the languages mentioned are the minimum level of command required.
