RINA is currently recruiting for a Italy Yachting Marine Surveyor to join its office in Ancona, Italy within the Marine South West Europe Region Division.
Mission A surveyor in a classification society plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety, compliance, and quality of ships and marine assets.
The main responsibilities are aimed at verifying that vessels meet international and classification society standards.
Key Accountabilities Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure strict adherence to classification society rules, international regulations, and statutory requirements during surveys and inspections. Apply new regulations as they arise. Technical Expertise:
Provide expert technical advice to clients, shipowners, and manufacturers on matters related to classification, design, construction, and maintenance. Stay abreast of the latest industry technologies, innovations, and advancements. Problem-Solving:
Act as a troubleshooter, addressing technical issues and challenges that may arise during surveys or during client interactions. Quality Assurance:
Implement quality assurance measures in survey processes to uphold the highest standards of accuracy and reliability in inspection reports. Client Education:
Educate clients on classification society processes, rules, and the importance of compliance for safety and operational efficiency. Documentation and Reporting:
Use standardized templates for inspection reports, ensuring consistency, clarity, and timeliness in reporting. Collaboration and Teamwork:
Collaborate with colleagues to share knowledge, experiences, and best practices. Continuous Professional Development:
Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with evolving industry standards and technologies. Ethical Conduct:
Uphold the highest ethical standards in all professional interactions. Education Master's Degree in Naval Engineering
Qualifications Minimum 3 years' experience as a Junior Surveyor or 5 years' experience in the marine industry. Proficiency in English relevant to classification and statutory certification. Ability to develop knowledge of RINA Rules, Guides, and safety policies. Understanding of engineering plans and shipbuilding practices. Experience in conducting new building and ship in service surveys. Knowledge of ships' engineering systems and related software.
