We are looking for a R&D Compounds & Materials Engineer to join the R&D Material team in Italy. Based in Quattordio Plant (Alessandria) and reporting to the Regional R&D Compounds & Materials & Physico-Chemical Laboratory Manager, the successful candidate will manage the definition and realization of research and development projects related to materials and compounds within two Italian Plants: Quattordio (production of compounds) and Merlino (production of Special cables) and relative businesses, in order to increase Prysmian position on the market.
In this Role your main responsibilities will be, within Quattordio and Merlino activities: Identify, develop, characterizes, and qualifies new materials in order to be able to: Propose innovative solutions on the market Improve current products in terms of cost reduction (DTC) and increase product reliability Assure fully availability and cost constraints of the raw material for the supply chain Assure the role of material expert for all the questions that can arise from internal (R&D Team, Procurement, Commercial, Manufacturing, QHSE) or external (customers) Guarantee the management of raw materials and compounds necessary for cables production, also in terms of availability on the market and price Follow actively his request of works to the Laboratory compound development and characterization Center located in Quattordio Ensure the monitoring and constant improvement of the manufacturing processes of the compounds and their formulation to guarantee the durability of the materials and compounds Ensure efficient assistance to R&D Italy team (including final customers' requests), Supply chain department, production, procurement, and QHSE departments Complete documentation management of the materials (for example Product specification, technical specification, material safety data sheet, internal specification, REACH and RoHS compliance). Coordination of the activities inside the Regional R&D Materials group Your knowledge and background: Master's Degree in, Chemical, Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering in Polymers, Plastics, Rubbers. Previous experience (around 3 years) in similar roles;
