**Role Description**
We are looking for an Italy Government Affairs Officer who will be part of the Government Affairs Department which oversees the Group's corporate positioning and manages relationships with key stakeholders at the national, European, and international levels, including institutions and business associations. We identify and interpret relevant legislative issues and political dynamics while promoting the Group's interests to support the objectives of the Strategic Plan.
The Italy Government Affairs Officer will join our Government Affairs team to monitor and analyze the national legislative framework. This role involves engaging with institutional stakeholders in Italy to influence public policy on nuclear innovation and sustainable energy, ensuring that newcleo's interests are well-represented in the complex regulatory landscape of nuclear energy.
**Main Activities**
- Monitor, analyze, and assess national legislative developments, identifying key issues, and developing advocacy strategies to advance the Group's interests.
- Facilitate the creation of corporate positioning documents for engagement with institutions and key stakeholders.
- Support the Head of the office in managing high-level relationships with the Italian government and ministries, overseeing relevant working groups and key national and international ministerial initiatives.
**Desired Qualifications**
- Master's degree in Law, Political Science, and/or International Relations
- Fluent Italian and English. French is a plus.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in institutional relations, preferably in the energy sector.
- Previous relevant experience in parliamentary and government monitoring (experience in consultancy is considered a plus).
- Deep expertise in parliamentary law and in-depth knowledge of the Italian political and institutional landscape, particularly regarding energy issues.
- Exceptional ability to work collaboratively within a team, with a proactive approach and keen awareness of current political and institutional dynamics.
- Proactive and self-motivated, with a strong desire to learn and contribute.
- Proven experience in political and/or legislative roles within public administration offices is a plus.
