This position is contingent upon funding.Due to length of time it takes to obtain a Visa to work in Italy, candidate must currently live in Italy to be considered for position.Leidos currently has an opening for an IT Specialist Senior to support execution of projects on the SMIT contract and to be located in Naples, Italy.
The Senior IT Specialist will oversee operation of network systems, architecture, and topology through deployment and oversight of network operations specialists.
The qualified candidate will also perform asset scanning and logging of assets that have been delivered in accordance with established Government directives for both Lab and Production assets.SMIT is the largest IT services program for the Navy.
As a member of the Leidos team, you will assist in the delivery of the core backbone of the Navy-Marine Corps Intranet, including cybersecurity services, network operations, service desk, and data transport.
Ultimately, Leidos will support the Navy in unifying its shore-based networks and data management to improve capability and service while also saving significant dollars by focusing efforts under one enterprise network.Other duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Perform advanced systems installation, operation, integration, and troubleshooting in order to maintain optimum Information Technology (IT) system operations.Design and oversee upgrades and new installs of IT systems and services ensuring coordination with Cyber Security Specialist.
Perform Tier III upgrades of networking systems, IT systems, and storage networking.Perform Tier III troubleshooting, optimization, and performance management of Internet Protocol (IP), Domain Name System (DNS), Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), and routing protocols.Integrate enterprise, regional, and local IT systems ensuring current network operations are sustained or oversee their recovery.Basic Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, MIS, Business, or related field.Ten plus (10+) years of IT experience including Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6), Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP), Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), Virtual Local Area Networks (VLANs), Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), and Network Address Translation (NAT).Must possess an Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level III certification and a Microsoft Associates Level Certification.US Citizen with an active DOD Secret clearance.SMIT-MCENOriginal Posting Date: 2024-08-07While subject to change based on business needs, Leidos reasonably anticipates that this job requisition will remain open for at least 3 days with an anticipated close date of no earlier than 3 days after the original posting date as listed above.Pay Range: Pay Range $87,100.00 - $157,450.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
