IT Infra Eng (Contractor) is responsible for installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining Windows/Linux in physical and virtual environments, with a good understanding of network gears, and associated peripherals, including printers, and AV equipment.
IT Infra Eng (Contractor) will report to the Local Eng group and will work closely with other members of the technology department to support the Lab. Job Description
60% - Set up, maintain , and troubleshoot Lab and IT environments (IPBPX, Wi-Fi, LAN /WAN, Routing/Switching ).
Daily follow-ups on open issues to closure and ensure SLAs are met.
Install and configure software, network switches, devices, and other network appliances.
Collaborate with the Engineering group to install and set up complex environments, such as server clusters, SAN, Cloud, etc.
15% - Coordinate with engineering lead , Application owner, vendors as needed.
Alert the support teams to outages and provide necessary updates to leads.
Review and test new applications software etc. and provide feedback.
Document issue resolution, prioritize, and reassign tickets using the help desk ticketing system.
15% - Develop and share Knowledgebase with the teams.
Maintain Inventory of all hardware and software resources and parts.
Propose Service Improvement Plans for the company and work on implementing them.
10% - Maintain excellent communication with all end-users and other members of the technology department . Key Skills:
Knowledge of TCP/IP networking, and related network services (i.e. DNS, SMTP, DHCP, etc.)
Experience with virtualization and containerization (i.e., VMware, Docker)
Experience with Cloud Services providers (i.e. AWS and GCP)
Good communication skills and experience working in a global setup.
Network switches and firewall configuration and managing
Cyber Security and Secure Administration of the network
Solid networking knowledge (OSI network layers, TCP/IP)
Advanced experience with Linux and Windows operating systems
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
Language: Italian and English fluent is a must requirement. 4+ years specializing in desktop support, systems administration, and IT Operations in a Linux environment preferred.
Experience with firewalls, switches, and routers
Experience with managing a co-location or an engineering lab.
Good understanding of redundancy and backup
Must be enthusiastic and proactively looking out for issues and fixing them quickly.
Experience:
Rack and stack the new systems and network equipment.
Ability to recognize, analyze, and effectively solve problems in a timely and organized manner using industry best practices and procedures.
Monitoring systems
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Manage 10 racks co-location.
Remediate the Security Vulnerabilities for the systems and keep the patches up to date.
Maintaining computer networks including firewalls, VPNs, routers, and other physical hardware.
Installing and configuring network equipment.
Managing firewalls and data security systems to keep data and communications protected.
Monitoring computer systems to improve network performance for all systems.
Troubleshooting, resolving, and communicating networking issues to other employees and management.
Maintaining current knowledge and understanding of security and networking best practices to offer the best solutions and protection to company systems.
