Office of Audit and Oversight (AUO) The Office of Audit and Oversight (AUO) enhances and protects organizational value by providing independent and objective assurance and advisory services.
AUO reviews and investigates possible or alleged irregular practices, including staff misconduct, fraud, and corruption in IFAD activities.
Job Role The Investigation Officer performs investigations into IFAD project and/or staff misconduct related allegations, adhering to AUO's standards.
The incumbent will maintain confidentiality and professionalism throughout the assignment.
Key Functions and Results Investigation: Conduct thorough investigations into allegations of fraud, corruption, collusion, and staff misconduct.
This includes planning and executing office and field-based investigations, conducting interviews, and managing investigation workflows.Promoting Anticorruption Policy: Contribute to the implementation of IFAD's anticorruption policy through internal reviews, preparing reports, and assessing potential fraud and corruption risks.Partnership Building and Communication: Provide guidance to IFAD employees regarding investigations and coordinate with local officials and external organizations.Managerial Functions: Ensure integrity and transparency in managing assigned IFAD resources and supervising interns and contractors.Key Performance Indicators The Investigation Officer is responsible for delivering comprehensive, legally sound reports and advising on institutional risks identified during investigations.
Job Profile Requirements Education: Advanced university degree in a relevant field of law (international, administrative, commercial, economics, or related legal field) from an accredited institution.Experience: At least five years of relevant professional experience in investigatory work in an international setting.Two years in a multi-cultural organization providing global support.Skills: In-depth knowledge of IFAD's governance structure and mandate.Advanced data analytics and risk management skills.Legal drafting skills relevant to IFAD's operations.Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.Other Information IFAD is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate based on various factors in line with its Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Strategy.
