YOUR ROLE
Smart e-mobility and charging have a key role in the Automotive market evolution and Vehicle-2-Grid application are getting more and more pervasive. In fact, boundaries between vehicles and charging infrastructure are disappearing enabling additional services and smart applications thanks a deep integration between the electrical vehicles and the grid. One key component to enable such functionalities is the broad-band powerline modem based on a standard namedHomePlug GreenPHY.
The candidate will be responsible to work on the understanding of the V2G infrastructure and key system requirements focusing on the channel model study/characterization and proposing new possible methodologies/enhancements to self-estimate and calibrate PLC signal level and guarantee an optimal power spectral density (PSD) avoiding communication issues. The final goal will be to have a demonstrator with related software and firmware to test the proposed approach in a test environment.
YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCES
good knowledge of embedded systems and microcontrollers (Arduino, STM32) and embedded real time operating system (RTOS)
Good knowledge of radio frequency and telecommunication principles
Basic knowledge of Networking and Internet protocols including IP (UDP and TCP)
Familiarity with laboratory equipment
Basic skills in Python and scripting languages are a plus.
Basic MATLAB & Simulink knowledge is a plus.
Minimum required English level (CEFR):A2or equivalent.
