Internship in the field of "Satellite Image Time Series Analysis (SITS) Using Deep Learning" The Bruno Kessler Foundation is a research and innovation institution based in Trento. In this context, the Remote sensing for Digital Earth (RSDE) Research Unit of the Digital Society Center deals with the automatic analysis of remote sensing images for Earth observation and space exploration, consistent with the Foundation's objectives. Planned activitiesThe RSDE Research Unit of the Digital Society Center is looking for a young recent graduate interested in pursuing an internship experience in the analysis of remote sensing image time series for Earth observation. The ideal candidate is a proactive and dynamic young person with good organizational and interpersonal skills, with a propensity for teamwork, motivated to undertake a training experience in an international context.
The intern, working alongside the Research Unit staff, will mainly contribute to the following activities:
Analyzing Multi-temporal/Multi-annual satellite image time seriesDeveloping Deep learning architectures for land cover and/or land cover changes analysisValidating the proposed method and analyzing the results.The opportunity to join the team in other active and developing projects during the internship period and to gain experience in a dynamic and challenging environment such as FBK will also be offered.

RequirementsBeing enrolled in or holding a Master in telecommunication engineering, computer science, data science, or artificial intelligence;Knowledge of major subjects related to remote sensing and image processing;Fluent knowledge of written and spoken Italian and English (min. level B2);Relational and teamwork skills;Good adaptability, flexibility, and initiative skills;Programming skills in Python and/or MATLAB. Experience in designing, implementing, and using containerized software solutions in research environments. Internship InformationInternship start date: June
Internship experience duration: 6 months for extra-curricular internships.
Opportunity reserved for students enrolled in Master's degree or recently graduated (for extra-curricular internships, the degree must not have been obtained more than 12 months ago).
The internship experience will take place at the Science and Technology Cluster at the Povo location.
