The Internal Audit Branch of OIG carries out assurance and advisory activities designed to add value and improve the organization's operations.Reporting LinesThe Internal Auditor reports to a Senior Internal Auditor (Head of Unit).Technical FocusInternal auditing.Key ResultsThe planning and execution of audit assurance and advisory engagements at headquarters and/or field offices with the aim to provide independent and objective assurance and advice.Key Functions• Plans and executes audit assurance and advisory engagements.• Prepares or reviews electronic working papers that support audit engagement observations and conclusions.• Prepares clear and concise draft reports and presents engagement results.• Provides specialist advice as appropriate to managers.• Promotes capacity development in internal auditing.• Contributes to maintaining and updating the OIG Internal Audit Quality Assurance and Improvement Programme.• Provides support in developing internal audit tools and techniques.• Undertakes outreach activities to support implementation of OIG's communication strategy.• Performs other duties as required.Minimum Requirements• Advanced university degree in a relevant field or a first level university degree with additional years of experience.• Five years of relevant experience in an organization using modern auditing techniques.• Working knowledge of English and limited knowledge of another FAO official language.Technical/Functional Skills• Work experience in more than one location or area of work is desirable.• Extent and relevance of experience in providing management consulting or other advisory services.• Demonstrated ability to identify issues and develop recommendations.General Information• Extension of fixed term appointments is based on certification of performance and availability of funds.• FAO reserves the right not to make an appointment.Conditions of ServiceA competitive compensation and benefits package is offered.How to Apply• To apply, visit the recruitment website at Jobs at FAO and complete your online profile.
