Arup Italia is currently seeking a Sustainability Intern available to work on environmental and wellbeing certifications.
Role · Development of sustainable energy solutions through interdisciplinary cooperation with other Arup departments (e.g. MEP, architecture, façade, urban planning, etc.).
· Support during site visits in LEED/WELL building sites.
· Support during competition and early-stage design phases.
Requirements Essential Skills and Knowledge
Attending last year (or later) of master's degree in engineering or architecture or other relevant fields of study. Basic knowledge of building physics and understanding of main aspects of active/passive strategies for buildings and masterplans. Understanding of main aspects of low carbon strategies for buildings and masterplans (embodied and operational). Understanding of main aspects of circularity. Understanding of main aspects of environmental and wellbeing certifications (e.g. LEED, WELL, BREEAM). Good level of English & Italian. Good knowledge of basic Office package programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) and design programs (AutoCAD/Rhinoceros). Systems thinking analytical capabilities. Skills for working in multidisciplinary teams. Desirable skills and knowledge Previous experience of environmental and wellbeing certifications (e.g. LEED, WELL, BREEAM). Previous experience with HVAC systems and MEP engineering. Embodied carbon tool (e.g. OneClick). Digital skills including data extraction and interoperability between software. Second foreign language. International study/work experience (e.g., Erasmus program, thesis/internship program abroad, etc.).
