Not funded by a EU programme Is the Job related to staff position within a Research Infrastructure? No Offer Description The RIGENERA project addresses the infection of Xylella fastidiosa pauca on olive species with a multidisciplinary approach that renews the overall vision of the Apulian and Italian olive agriculture. In accordance with the need of modern agro-sustainability, RIGENERA proposes the use of genetic breeding strategies to counteract the spread of the disease and to introduce resistant plant material. The project is highly innovative and does not overlap with past projects, but integrates with them; if on one hand it represents their continuation, on the other hand it strongly differs from them thanks to the integrated and innovative proposed approaches. Main Objectives: Study of the molecular mechanisms underlying the genetic resistance of olive species to Xfp. Functional characterization of olive genes and regulatory elements involved in Xfp defense in model species. Comparative transcriptomic analysis of different olive genotypes infected with Xfp under controlled conditions. Employment Details Employment contract with full social security: Yes Total amount per fellowship per year: 19367 Euro Covers salary: Yes Covers travel and subsistence: No Covers research costs: No Maximum duration of fellowship: 24 months Eligibility Criteria Experience and expertise in studies of genetic variability in plant species, transcriptomic approaches, and functional analysis of genes of interest. Selection Process The Commission will assign a maximum of 70 and 30 points for the titles and the interview, respectively. The interview will focus on the topic of the call. The selection process will provide a merit ranking according to the descending order of the final score obtained by each candidate; that score will be the sum of the scores obtained in the title evaluation and during the interview.
