The role will work in full alignment and close collaboration with internal stakeholders including sourcing, engineering, manufacturing and project management to enable project execution excellence.
The scope of activities includes supplier product qualification, audit, surveillance, quality issue resolution and root cause investigation.What You'll Do:Be the primary interface between critical suppliers engineering requirementsManage supplier quality, supplier performance, including formal Supplier Quality Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs) as appropriatePerform Technical commodity assessmentLead supplier quality reviewsBe the technical support for sourcing/manufacturingLead effort to reduce COQ and product DPMOPerform and lead Customer witness/inspection meetings at suppliersLead Supplier RCAs on critical or recurrent SDRs (Supplier deviation requests), escapes to GE or customersIssue technical data to support Sourcing for Vendor RecoveryExecute Surveillance audits as per agreed planMonitor Process Capability and drive continuous improvement plans of suppliers' quality and delivery performanceMonitor Supplier scorecards – Quality Section and ensure accuracyBe accountable for functional, business, and broad company Supplier Quality objectivesDrive Supplier Quality initiatives to continually improve SQE team effectivenessDrive root cause identification for Cost of Failure and defect rate for suppliers in your scopeWhat You'll Bring (Basic Qualifications):Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college or equivalent experienceTechnical aptitudeCommunications Teamwork SkillsProject Management SkillsBusiness / Commodity expertiseProven Supplier Quality experience or equivalent experienceTravel as needed, up to 50% of time to drive strategy, support problem solving at SuppliersWhat Will Make You Stand out:Experience with supplier qualification, development, manufacturing assessment, and surveillanceSignificant and proven Product line expertise with a technology/engineering backgroundDemonstrated effective interpersonal, teamwork, networking skills, collaboration conflict resolution skillsDemonstrated project management skills to establish strategic goals and to prioritize, plan, delegate evaluate deliverablesProcess improvement experience, knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies in-depth understanding of related processesStrong problem solving and negotiation skills with the ability to develop implement complex influencing negotiating strategiesAbility to influence and enroll by making recommendations for appropriate action at all levels of the companyStrong verbal, written, communication and presentation skills with the ability to speak and write clearly convincingly in English, tailoring communication methods to customer's requirementsAbility to respond/react with appropriate urgency/professionalism make decisions under pressure/stressChange agent with energy, passion enthusiasm to drive changeStrong business acumen; uses financial analysis to make important business decisions understands key financial metricsAbility to articulate the company's business vision key business objectives, understands business trends cyclesAbility to make decisions under pressure and take ownership for assigned projects and programsBenefits Available to YouGE employees rise to the challenge of building a world that works.
