The infrastructure running industries like transportation, energy, insurance, banking, or healthcare is quickly changing as the world's relationship with technology evolves. Your Role and Responsibilities
As an Infrastructure Specialist, you directly support clients to transform their business by addressing their System and Infrastructure needs with innovative solutions. You will define the scope and vision for projects that deliver customized solutions using your knowledge of IBM and non-IBM, Cloud and on-premises platforms. In your role, you will be responsible for managing on-premises infrastructure, acting as a technical liaison among IT Architect, IT Analyst, technical resources, and project stakeholders. Following a well-structured implementation process, you will work with customer requirements gathering, understand risks and client pain points, carry out a PoC implementation, and route the development toward a solution baseline implementation. Your work will power IBM and its clients globally, bringing innovation into enterprise systems. Required Technical and Professional Expertise
As a System Administrator Infrastructure Specialist, we are looking for candidates with the following background and skills:
Minimum 2+ years experience with hands-on delivery and consulting in a client-facing environment, including customer crit-sit support, and strong communication skills for management and client interaction;Minimum 2+ years experience in system administration knowledge of Red Hat, Linux, and Windows Server operating systems, such as managing clustered systems;Good understanding of networking standards and technologies, such as TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, routing, firewall rules, load balancers, etc;Minimum 2+ years experience with JBOSS, IIS, Apache;Minimum 2+ years experience with Bash Linux & PowerShell;Good understanding of on-premise system monitoring tool(s);Knowledge of Database administration (ORA, MySQL, Mongo, Cassandra, Sql Server);Ability to produce high-quality documentation about solution design;Good interpersonal and communication skills;Intermediate knowledge of the English language;Good understanding of on-premise system monitoring tool(s). In particular, the following are highly appreciated:
Knowledge of one or more cloud services (AWS Platform, Azure Platform, Google Platform, IBM Cloud Platform, or Red Hat Platform);Understanding of DevOps practices;Certifications in system administration (Red Hat, Linux, Microsoft);Certifications in a public Cloud platform (e.g., Azure, AWS, Google, IBM Cloud);Certifications in orchestration platforms (e.g., Kubernetes, RH OpenShift);Competencies in Infrastructure as Code;Availability to travel is an additional mandatory prerequisite.
