Description INCOMING INSPECTION TECHNICIAN We in Hitachi Rail STS offer career advancement opportunities to our internal employees as a first option according to our recruitment policy.
Location: Hitachi Rail STS ITALY – Piossasco (TO).
Willingness to travel: 0-10% of the time.
Mission: Support the Supply Chain Quality (SCQ) Unit in performing timely inspections of ordinary incoming materials, which have to be sent either to the subsequent manufacturing phases or to our Customers directly, in accordance with the rules foreseen by Hitachi Rail STS' strategy.
Accountabilities include but are not limited to: Conduct inspection of incoming products to ensure proper paperwork is received and parts conform to specifications, engineering and purchase order. Complete inspection reports, related paperwork, and ensure all information is recorded accurately. Record, manage and supervise Incoming Inspection Quality Notifications (QN's) during all their lifecycle and provide prompt warning in case of critical or unresolved issues. Conduct investigations and propose short-term corrective action plans, and product containment and disposition plans. Support all the involved teams on the "Decision on Use" of parts that cannot be classified as "passed" or "not passed" after a first inspection. Collaborate with the involved Manufacturing teams to provide timely solutions in case of any incoming nonconformity found at later stage. Ensure the correct application of the Incoming Inspection Procedures/ Instructions within the local team, provide data and proactively contribute to process improvement. Take an active part in both Internal and External Audits, when needed. Education Required: Technical Secondary School Diploma.
Skills & Knowledge: Knowledge of fundamentals and basic rules of technical drawing, both mechanical and electrical. Familiarity with electronic parts, measurement tools, and IPC standards. Sound knowledge of Excel and Word or equivalent spreadsheet and word processor software applications. Knowledge of ERP (SAP). Thoroughness and attention to detail. Strong inter-personal skills for good working with colleagues, External Providers, and Customers. Team-working oriented. Work ethic with personal integrity. Communicates with honesty, kindness and creates the space for others to do the same. Willingness to learn. Not afraid to get your hands dirty, also for manual material handling. Time management. Open-minded both about questioning yourself and about new ways of doing things. Strives for continuous improvement. Languages: English: Good.
