Job Overview: The Imaging Service Engineer I will inspect, repair, maintain, and calibrate basic diagnostic imaging equipment, devices, systems, and instruments. This role involves routine interaction with clinical health providers to identify technology-based problems and participation in on-the-job training programs regarding technical, administrative, and customer service requirements.
Qualifications: Minimum of 2+ years of imaging experience (preferably in radio frequency, X-ray portables, ultrasound, etc.) Experience in a hospital or healthcare setting preferred. Ability to make decisions regarding troubleshooting and repairing medical imaging devices. Ability to complete preventative & corrective maintenance on medical devices with limited supervision. Excellent communication, customer service, and time management skills. Schedule availability to participate in on-call rotation schedule as required. Technical Duties and Responsibilities: Knowledge of mechanical systems and tools, basic networking theory, and safety precautions when servicing high voltages and working with ionizing radiation. Analyze electronic, electromechanical, and mechanical equipment. Isolate, test, and replace defective parts. Perform preventive maintenance inspections. Maintain accurate records of repairs, calibration, and tests. Run diagnostic programs. Key Duties: Inspect, maintain, repair, and calibrate equipment and systems. Provide advanced support of equipment for direct patient care. Interact with clinical health providers in the identification of technology-based problems and solutions. Resolve organization-level customer service issues and complaints. Prepare required documentation and reports. Ensure regulatory compliance. Demonstrate a safety mindset. Financial responsibility for purchasing parts and service. Basic Education Requirement: Associates Degree (or equivalent experience) in electronics, biomedical engineering, or other technical disciplines contributing to proficiency in maintenance and repair of imaging equipment within a healthcare environment.
Basic Functional Experience: 3 years of experience within a healthcare setting with direct responsibility for the maintenance and repair of clinical devices and/or 1 year of imaging equipment repair and maintenance within a healthcare environment and/or entry-level formalized training and/or equivalent military training.
